This Sesame Noodles Recipe is perfect for potlucks, picnics, camping (make in advance), and lunches to go. It can be served hot or cold and can be left out without worry of spoiling like mayonnaise based salads. This is a favorite of children big and small.
Whenever I bring this to a party, I am bombarded with requests for the recipe. Well, here it is, finally, in writing with the ingredients measured for optimum flavor. The nice thing about this recipe is that you can put a little more of this, a little less of that, and it will still turn out good. The two ingredients to be sure to stay light on is the white pepper and the rice wine vinegar as they will alter the flavors too much.
Sesame Noodles Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Pasta (linguini is my favorite, any long pasta will do)
- 1/2 cup Lite Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp Seasoned Rice Wine Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp White Pepper
- 2 Tbl Cilantro Paste
- 1 Tbl Sesame Oil
- 1/2 cup Chopped Green Onions
- 1/2 cup Chopped Cilantro
Note: I prefer Barilla Pasta as it produces a perfect pasta when following the packages timing instructions.
Instructions
Boil water for pasta and cook pasta according to package directions.
While cooking pasta, in large bowl combine soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, 1/2 cup sesame oil, garlic powder, white pepper and squeeze cilantro. Combine with a whisk. Set aside.
Drain pasta (DO NOT RINSE) and combine with soy sauce mixture above. Toss together to combine well. Add remaining 1 Tbl Sesame oil and toss again. Serve hot or cold and with green onions and cilantro on the side or mixed into the noodles. Generally if I’m serving it in a crowd with kids, I’ll put the onions and cilantro on the side.
