Looking for a fast and easy way to make your house smell amazing and have a delicious desert? These apple pie bars are to die for! So so good.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Set aside.
In a heavy bottomed saucepan, heat up the butter on low until melted. Add the brown sugar and continue cooking on low while whisking until brown sugar is completely incorporated and melted. Remove from heat.
Add the apple sauce and vanilla and whisk together until smooth. Add the flour mixture and whisk again until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing (whisk or wooden spoon) to fully incorporate. Add the walnuts and apples and mix in. Pour in to 9x13 baking pan that is lined with parchment paper. Bake for 18-22 minutes at 350 degrees or until done.
Remove from oven and let cool completely before cutting into squares. Or just keep in the pan and cut it as you go. So yummy!!! (oh and yes, you can eat it while warm, just let it cool for at least 10 minutes or you will burn your mouth and wait to cool before cutting up completely)
